Week of April 16

This week the class will be studying odds and probability. Complementary events are the topic on Monday and Tuesday. Independent and dependent event will be studied later in the week. A Chapter 10 Test is quickly approaching!

Data Analysis

This week we will analyze graphs and find common mistakes that people make when they interpret statistics. Students will construct and analyze bar graphs, line graphs, circle graphs, histograms, and box-and-whisker plots.

Week of March 26

This week we will finish factoring polynomials. Review Day will be on Wednesday, and the Chapter 8 Test will be on Thursday.

Week of March 12

The class will continue our unit on factoring polynomials. Sections 8-3 and 8-4 will be taught in class; students will have a quiz on Thursday (section 8-3).

Week of February 27

We will finish Section 7-8 on Tuesday. Begin preparing for your Chapter 7 Test which will be on Wednesday. Don't forget that Thursday is a half day of school; dismissal is at 11:30 a.m. Go Tigers! If your conference was originally scheduled on Thursday, March 1, the new date for your conference will be Monday, March 4.

Multiplying Polynomials and FOIL

What does FOIL mean? This week you will find out, and you will never forget how to multiply binomials. A Chapter 7 Test is quickly approaching begin preparing now. Remember, I am here before school, during lunch, and after school if you need help.

Week of February 13

We will continue studying properties of exponents. Quiz on Wednesday - Division properties for exponents. Later in the week we will begin to simplify polynomials.

Week of February 6

This week we will be studying multiplication and division properties of exponents. Students will discover exponent laws by exploring patterns.

Week of January 30

This week we will be solving problems that involve negative exponents. Later in the week students will be given an opportunity to show their understanding of scientfic notation by creating a mini-project.

7-1 Quiz over negative exponets will on Thursday. Dont forget NeSA-writing is either on Tuesday or Wednesday this week.

Week of January 23

This week students are graphing and solving systems of inequalities. The Chapter 6 Test will be on Friday, January 27. On Thursday,the high school counselors will be in math class to discuss scheduling for next year.

Week of January 17

This week we will be using the elimination method to solve systems of equations. Students will compare price plans of different companies and analyze which company provides a better deal for their needs.

Week of January 9

This week the class will be solving systems by using substitution. Students will solve problems that compare different price plans, and then analyze which price plans are more ideal for them.
